SUBSTANCE: light-emitting device for image display radiating light from divided regions includes a plurality of light emitting units, each corresponding to each of the regions and having a light-emitting element; a region driving circuit configured to determine light emission brightness data of each light-emitting element based on image data; and a light-emitting element control circuit configured to execute a sequence of light emission control processes relating to each light-emitting element based on the light emission brightness data. The light-emitting element control circuit includes a power limiter circuit configured to execute a sequence of power limit processes if the total light emission power corresponding to total emission power in each region exceeds predetermined allowable power. The sequence power limit processes limits power in each region so that the total light emission power is equal to the predetermined allowable power or less.
EFFECT: power saving and preventing heat dissipation.
