FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely a tonometer. A tonometer comprises a cuff used as a detection unit which comprises an air chamber, a photo sensor, a belt element and a retaining unit, and is attached to a live body by wrapping the belt element around a measured region. The photo sensor comprises a light-emitting element and a light-receiving element. The retaining unit comprises a major part with an attachment surface of a sensor with the attached photo sensor, and a guide part projecting from the major part towards a side of an attachment surface of the sensor. A distal end of the guide part is provided on a body surface near the measured region when the cuff is attached. The air chamber is mounted on the attachment surface of the sensor and closes the photo sensor, and the guide part is mounted so that to surround the photo sensor.
EFFECT: use of the invention enables simplifying a procedure of pulse wave reception and increasing detection accuracy.
