FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neonatology, and can be used for calculation of diet of full-term babies on different types of feeding. For this purpose, starting with the 5-th day of life, percent content of fat in baby's body is determined by means of air-substituting plethysmography. If said index is higher than 20%, energy supply is reduced by 10 kcal/kg of weight. If its value is from 10 to 20%, aberage physiological energy supply is used - 120 kcal/kg. If the index value is less than 10%, energy supply is increased by 10 kcal/ kg of weight in comparison with the average physiological value.
EFFECT: method provides possibility to prevent hypotrophy, paratrophy, metabolic syndrome, disturbances of physical and psychomotor development due to possibility to administer optimal ratio of plastic and energy substrates for digestion by baby's organism.
