FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: projectile for a rifled weapon comprises a shell, where two cores are installed in series, the first of which arranged closer to a head part of a projectile, is made of a harder material, and the second one - of a heavier material. The first core contacts along its entire side surface with an inner surface of the shell. The second core directly adjoins to the first core. In the second core there is a cavity, the bottom of which is located at the distance of at least 0.3 L, where L is the projectile length and does not reach at the side of the rear end to the centre of gravity of the projectile. The maximum diametre d of the cavity makes 0.36-0.85 D, where D is the projectile calibre.
