SUBSTANCE: projectile for a rifled weapon comprises a vessel, in which at the side of a tail part along the body axis there is a dead cavity. The cavity bottom is located at the distance of 0.3 L and more from the centre of gravity towards the rear end, where L is the projectile length. The maximum diametre d of the cavity makes 0.36-0.85 D, where D is the projectile calibre.
EFFECT: improved ballistic characteristics of a projectile.
