FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: projectile comprises a shell holding two cores installed serially. The first core is located closer to a head part of the projectile and is made of a more solid material, and the second core - from a heavier material. The first core contacts along its entire side surface with an inner surface of the shell. The second core directly adjoins to the first core. There is a cavity in the second core. The cavity bottom is located in the plane stretching via a centre of gravity of the projectile or is located at the distance of not more than 0.3 L from the centre of gravity of the projectile towards the rear end, or is installed at the distance of not more than 0.1 L from the centre of gravity of the projectile towards the projectile head. The maximum diameter d of the cavity makes 0.03-0.36 D, where D is the projectile calibre, and L is the projectile length.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of a damage effect of a projectile and improved stability of its ballistic characteristics.
