FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: projectile comprises shell to house two cores, one arranged nearby projectile head and made from harder material and another made from heavier material and provided with blind cavity. First core side surface stays in contact with shell inner surface. Second core adjoins directly the first core. Blind cavity features variable diameter. One its portion on projectile tail side has larger diameter changing into smaller-diameter part in steps. Cavity bottom is located in plane crossing center of gravity of projectile, or at distance not exceeding 0.3 L to said center of gravity, or at distance not exceeding 0.1 L beyond center of gravity. Transition from one cavity part into another is located, at least, 0.3 L to center of gravity. Larger part maximum diameter makes 0.36-0.85 D while smaller part maximum diameter makes 0.03-0.36 D, where D is projectile caliber and L is its length.

EFFECT: higher hitting capacity.
