SUBSTANCE: method involves adding a reference solution containing a given amount of the analysed substance and a given amount of the internal standard compound. Further, a first low potential sufficient for oxidation of said analysed substance but not sufficient for oxidation of said internal standard compound (ilow voltage) is applied across the electrochemical sensor, and a second high potential sufficient for oxidation of said internal standard compound and said analysed substance (ihigh voltage) is also applied with further calculation of the differential index (DI) using the formula: DI=ihigh voltage/ilow voltage. If DI is much greater than 1, the reference solution is present; if DI is approximately equal to 1, the sample is present.
