FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves adding a reference solution containing a given amount of the analysed substance and a given amount of the internal standard compound. Further, a first low potential sufficient for oxidation of said analysed substance but not sufficient for oxidation of said internal standard compound (i_{low voltage}) is applied across the electrochemical sensor, and a second high potential sufficient for oxidation of said internal standard compound and said analysed substance (i_{high voltage}) is also applied with further calculation of the differential index (DI) using the formula: DI=i_{high voltage}/i_{low voltage}. If DI is much greater than 1, the reference solution is present; if DI is approximately equal to 1, the sample is present.
