SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to laboratory diagnostic, and can be used for distinction between a blood sample and an aqueous sample other than blood, the plurality of transient current characteristics and capacitance are measured using a testing device electrically connected to an electrochemical test strip. Transient current characteristics are used to determine whether the sample is a blood sample or an aqueous sample other than blood, based on its characteristics such as the number of present foreign matter, the reaction kinetics and/or capacitance. Also a method is provided the distinction criterion for test device programming.
