FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalytic chemistry and specifically to preparation of a catalyst with platinum alloy nanoparticles on a carbon support used in chemical current sources. The catalyst preparation method is realised using electrodes made from alloys of platinum with transition metals in solutions of alkali metal hydroxides with concentration from 8 to 30 wt % under the action of alternating current with frequency 50 Hz and average current value per unit surface area of electrodes of 0.1-1.0 A/cm2.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain highly active catalysts with platinum alloy nanoparticles on a carbon support in a single step, without toxic reducing agents and high temperature, which improved economic and environmental components of the technique.
