SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a backlight driving device, having a plurality of backlight units, for each of which a unique address is automatically established using a simplified configuration, wherein backlight driving units (101)-(115) are connected in series to a backlight driving control part (14) through a serial signal line (131) via a series-connection technique, and thus the backlight driving control part (14) serially transmits the addressing signal to each of the units before sending brightness data. Also, the backlight driving control part (14) is directly connected to backlight driving units (101)-(115) through a PS bus (132) via a bus technique, and thus the backlight driving control part (14) receives the amount of light and temperature determined by units identified by addresses.
EFFECT: possibility of using common backlight driving units, uniformity of illumination of the display region.
