FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, in particular to ophthalmology. In order to detect pseudoexfoliation material (PEM) in structures of posterior eye chamber at early stages of disease in patients with cataract ultrasonic biomicroscopy is carried out. In case of detection of point inclusions on the surface of structures facing rear eye chamber during phacoemulsification after cornea paracentesis scrape is taken in zone of location of point inclusions. Smear-imprint is performed, dried in the air until complete evaporation of moisture, stained with dye-fixer of May-Grunwald by Pappenheim method and further additionally stained by method of histological staining by Mallory. If fibrillar-granular structures of dark-blue colour are detected on smear imprint, presence of PEM is stated.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to detect pseudoexfoliation material in structures of rear eye chamber at early stages of disease.
