FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: reactor includes housing consisting of cylindrical part with heat carrier supply and discharge branch pipes, bottom, cover of housing, active zone and internals. On external surface of bottom and lower part of cylindrical surface of reactor housing there installed are fuel elements having mechanical contact to reactor housing, which provides heat contact between them. Fuel elements can be made in the form of metal bars, heat pipes or plates. Length of fuel elements in the normal direction to surface of housing and bottom exceeds thickness of steam layer formed on their external surface.

EFFECT: increasing the safety of reactor plant of NPP during the period of severe accident, which is accompanied by fusion of active zone.
