FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: electric voltage is supplied to the electric winding current conductor outputs with the current conductor ohmic resistance value measured. Then one measures the value of the current conductor ohmic resistance at reverse polarity of the electric voltage supplied. One calculates the value of absolute magnitude of the difference between the measured values of the current conductor ohmic resistance in the modes of direct and reverse polarity of electric voltage. One compares the calculated value with the values of absolute magnitude of the difference between the current conductor ohmic resistances corresponding to specific types of the current conductor insulation damages. By the comparison result one identifies the insulation damage type. This enables provision of recommendations on maintenance and operation of the winding diagnosed.

EFFECT: extension of functionalities due to the possibility to detect the insulation damage type.
