FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: device has a liquid crystal panel (2) lying between two plates (1, 3) with linear polarisation, and a triacetyl cellulose film (4) having biaxial optical anisotropy, wherein the triacetyl cellulose film (4), having biaxial optical anisotropy, (i) lies nearer the front side of the screen than the front polarised plate which is one of the two plates (1, 3) with linear polarisation, and (ii) has delay in the plane in the range from 40 nm to 100 nm.

EFFECT: enabling the viewer to see an image on the screen through polarised sunglasses not only from the front viewpoint but also when the azimuth angle and the polar angle, on which viewpoints are set, are shifted from the front viewpoint.
