FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, also may be used for intraoperative parathyroid localisation. That is ensured by the oral single introduction of 5- aminolevulinic acids 30 mg per kg of body weight 120 minutes prior to the operation. A surgical site is intraoperatively exposed to polar blue light; if fluorescent areas are found within the exposed tissues fine-needle biopsy of all fluorescent areas is performed for the purpose of the urgent cytochemical analysis. If cytochemical analysis shows the presence of parathyroid tissue, thyroid tissue is to be removed with parathyroid being preserved.
EFFECT: invention provides avoiding much too high doses of 5-aminolevulinic acid, reducing length of the preoperative preparation, precisely localising parathyroid tissue, and also reducing a number of postoperative complications.
