FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method of formation of the organ or tissue phantom involves the stages whereon an organ or a tissue are placed in a container with an elastomeric melt; a number of rods are inserted through the container and the organ or tissue; the elastomeric melt is left to soak in and cure; the organ or tissue is removed from the container; the organ or tissue is replaced by a number of separately removed elastomeric segments; the first elastomeric segment is removed, and replace a cavity formed thereon is replaced by melted polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to form a PVA-segment; the PVA-segment is left to set and cure; the stages are repeated until all the elastomeric segments are removed. Each following melted PVA-segment is linked and/or alloyed with the previous set PVA-segment so that to generate the phantom organ or tissues. There are disclosed the organ or tissue phantom and a method for making the phantom heart.
