FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of measuring angular velocity involves measuring amplitude of the longitudinal component of a reflected acoustic wave resulting from change in polarisation of the source transverse wave during vibration. The longitudinal component of the reflected volume acoustic wave, resulting from transformation of the emitted transverse wave on the inclined surface of the acoustic line whose angle of inclination does not exceed the critical angle, is picked up by a receiving transducer. The resulting signal is proportional to the rotational speed.
EFFECT: reduced noise level when realising the method of measuring angular velocity, easy structural realisation thereof.
