FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: for the purpose of the development of various methods of treating an isolated spinal cord injury, preferentially in children, an isolated spinal cord injury in laboratory rabbits is simulated with underlying drug-induced sedation by rometar that is followed by fixation of the animal on a support stand by the upper thoracic spine with the use of a belt. A 2.25-3.0 kg loaded belt is attached to the lower thoracic spine. Traction is performed by dropping the load down for 30 seconds.
EFFECT: modelling traction myelopathy adequately reflecting nuerological deficiency, particularly in childhood, characterised by said clinical version of the spinal cord injury.
