FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely vascular neurosurgery and neurology. Method can be used for diagnosing impairment of venous outflow from brain in patients with various diseases of neck and brain vessels, excluding states which result in increase of pressure in superior vena cava or intracranial pressure. Ultrasonic examination of neck is performed. Maximal rate of blood flow in vertebral vein is measured in horizontal and vertical position. If value of maximal blood flow rate is higher than 45 cm/s in horizontal position and it increases in vertical position by not more than 10% from the rate measured in horizontal position, impairment of venous outflow is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method ensures increase of accuracy and self-descriptiveness if diagnostics due to possibility to estimate blood flow in venous vertebral arteries.
