FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composite membrane materials for purifying a liquid, particularly drinking water. The material for purifying a liquid by filtration is formed from a polymeric membrane in the form of a fibrillar-porous matrix comprising a hydrophilic polymer and a metallic antibacterial agent. The fibrillar-porous matrix comprises stable active zones consisting of clusters of a metallic antibacterial agent in combination with molecules of hydrophilic polymer. Some of the clusters of the metallic antibacterial agent are bonded to one another and to the surface of the pores of the matrix by molecules of the hydrophilic polymer. Some of the clusters of the metallic antibacterial agent are additionally chemically bonded to the surface of the pores of the matrix. The average distance between the active zones is less than at least three times the mean diameter of the pores of the matrix. The active zone has a size of 10-100 nm.
EFFECT: obtaining stable hydrophilic properties of the polymeric membrane while maintaining permeability of the membrane and increasing the bacteriostasis of the composite material.
