FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: measuring system for determining and/or monitoring flow of a measured medium through a measuring tube has at least one ultrasonic transducer and at least one control/evaluation unit, which, through measurement signals or measurement data derived from the measurement signals, determines volume- and/or mass-flow of the measured medium flowing in the measuring tube. The ultrasonic transducer has at least one electromechanical transducer element, which sends and/or receives ultrasonic signals, as well as at least one coupling layer in the region between electromechanical transducer element and the measured medium, which directs ultrasonic signals. The ultrasonic transducer is acoustically connected to the measuring tube and is adapted to the outer shape of the measuring tube. The electromechanical transducer element is flexible and can be mounted to the first surface of the coupling layer. The ultrasonic transducer has the shape of a single- or double-curved cup and an ultrasonic signal, mainly perpendicular to the first surface of the coupling layer, enters it and/or comes out of it.
EFFECT: design of a system whose sensors are placed on a pipe and do not require complex relative orientation.
