FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: shearing loading is carried out and deformation of the connection is measured. Loading is carried out by creating excess pressure inside the cowling, and deformation of the connection is determined by measuring distribution on a circle of axial displacements of the shift of the ceramic cladding relative the frame on both edges of the connection. Operability of the connection is evaluated from results of comparing measured values of distribution of deformations with basic values thereof.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of inspecting connection of aircraft cowlings by monitoring mechanical properties directly on the full-scale specimen of the article.
