SUBSTANCE: device for measuring the vertical component of wind velocity in order to detect wind shift has a wind shift detector, a transmitter, two receivers, two circulators, two antennae, a digital signal processor, an antenna angular position sensor, a cross-correlation function derivative computer, a device for determining the position of the minimum of the cross-correlation function derivative, a power divider, a differentiator, an adjustable delay unit, a multiplier, a low-pass filter and a low frequency amplifier.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining the vertical component of wind velocity by using a cross-correlation function derivative.
