SUBSTANCE: disclosed method and device relate to detection of explosive and narcotic substances, in particular to methods and devices for detecting explosive and narcotic substances in various closed volumes and on human body, located in places of mass congestion of people. Device implementing disclosed method comprises transceiving antenna 1, antenna switch 2, transmitter 3, receiver 4, first 5, second 21 and third 29 high frequency amplifiers, analogue-to-digital converter 6, measuring device 7, memory unit 8, display unit 9, monitored object 10, processor 11, comparison unit 12, switch 13, first 14, second 22, third 30 and fourth 36 correlators, first 15, second 23, third 31 and fourth 37 multipliers, first 16, second 24, third 32 and fourth 38 low-pass filters, first 17, second 25, third 33 and fourth 39 low-frequency amplifiers, first 18, second 26, third 34 and fourth 40 units of controlled delay, first 20 and second 28 receiving antennas, range indicator 19, azimuth indicator 27, elevation angle indicator 35, orientation angle indicator 41, first 42, second 43 and third 44 differentiators.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining the location of a monitored object on which an explosive or narcotic substance is detected by using correlation function derivatives.
