FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: device to break icicles from a roof comprises a rigid plank fixed to a skirt with vertical through holes, through which a strong flexible insulated wire is pulled serially. Wire sections on the upper surface of the plank are tensioned, and sections on the lower surface form loops that freely hang down off the skirt. Opposite to the loops on the building wall under the skirt there are ferromagnetic elements installed, and ends of the wire are connected to a universal power supply source.
EFFECT: reduced power inputs for icicles breaking from the roof.
