SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling nuclear reactors. The method of controlling a nuclear reactor involves regulating power based on signals from power sensors through control over a channel for feeding positive reaction and a channel for feeding negative reaction by actuating devices for changing reaction. The regulator control channel for feeding positive reaction is connected to the drive of the actuating device having a stronger effect on change in neutron current density in the region of the least power density or the highest power density reserves, and regulator control channel for feeding negative reaction is connected to the drive of the actuating device which more strongly changes neutron current density in the region of the highest power density or the least power density reserves. The regions of the least and highest power density or highest and least power density reserves are determined from a mathematical model of the nuclear reactor, wherein simulation of nuclear reactor processes is carried out synchronously with the processes taking place in the nuclear reactor.
EFFECT: high accuracy of controlling distribution of power density or power density reserves and adjusting nuclear power reactor, improved uniformity of fuel combustion, longer life of the core, high safety of the nuclear reactor and wider field of use.
