METHOD OF ENDOSCOPIC TREATMENT OF ESOPHAGEAL VARICES AND PREVENTION OF ESOPHAGEAL HEMORRHAGE Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B17/00 A61B17/94

Abstract RU 2470598 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to endoscopy. Ligation of esophageal varices is performed. 14-20 days after healing of ulcer defects after performed initial ligation endoscopic assessment of structure of venous vascular bed in low third of esophagus is carried out. In case of detecting perforant veins and presence of blood flow in remaining veins after ligation repeated targeted ligation of esophageal veins is planned and performed. Then, after 14-20 days endoscopic control is carried out, decrease of esophageal veins is assessed visually. After that, argon-plasma coagulation of mucous membrane of lower third of esophagus is performed. Localisation of veins during endoscopy is realised by clock dial, using aorta as constant reference point at 12 o'clock.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to eliminate development of hemorrhage at the moment of argon-plasma coagulation of esophageal veins, achieve elimination of esophageal veins, increase survival rate of patients.
