SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for slicing vegetables and fruits. The device comprises a knife part and a supporting part interacting with it. The knife part comprises at least two sets of knives. Each of these sets of knives comprises at least two knives. The said knives are placed at a given distance from each other in the transverse direction and at a given distance from each other on level with the formation of steps or a fan. On each level only one knife from each set is located. On each level of knives the distances in the transverse direction between the knives located on the same level, are equal and constant. Using the said device the method of slicing vegetables and fruits is implemented. The first level of the at least two knives starts cutting a vegetable or a fruit. It is followed by at least the second level, the number of knives on which corresponds to the number of knives on the first level. Each level of knives starts cutting successively one by one.

EFFECT: simplified cutting difficult-to-cut and/or solid vegetables and fruits.
