FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: what is presented is a diagnostic technique for nephrotoxicity from a chemotherapy based on measuring blood plasma and urine cystatin C; that is combined with deriving a nephrotoxicity index as a blood serum cystatin C to urine cystatin C concentrations ratio; and if the calculated ratio is 50.2 or more, the high risk of a toxic renal failure is stated, and a preventive therapy of an acute renal failure is started immediately.

EFFECT: method enables detecting the signs of the acute renal failure from the first days after the chemotherapy course is completed and preventing the renal disease.
