FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to operation of diesel locomotive equipment. Proposed method consists in onboard diagnostics of, for example diesel and auxiliaries, including defining serviceability and functional testing, estimation of residual life, and revealing pre-emergent operating conditions. At first stage, stationary test bench or mobile diagnostics system is used along with analysis of a set of diagnostic indicators for testing at transient diagnostics conditions to define of the four of initial operating conditions, that is, perfect state, conditionally perfect state with limited residual life, limited health state, and pre-emergent state. At second stage, current accumulated load of diesel and auxiliaries is defined in operation at maximum load as diesel locomotive life. The latter is taken to be reference accumulated load to be compared with said current load at current life accumulated to one of specified types of current servicing. In case both loads are equal, one of said types of servicing is carried out.
EFFECT: higher costs, higher efficiency of diagnostics.
