FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device includes interconnected reactor with a sealed cooled cylindrical steel housing, supply means of initial aluminium and magnesium chloride and outlet means of aluminium and magnesium chloride, evaporator-boiler of magnesium and separation device of liquid magnesium from its residual mixture with aluminium chloride; at that, housing of the reactor is made in the form of two parts - upper cylindrical part, which is filled with thin-wall ceramic head pieces, and lower hollow conic part attached to it and intended for collection and removal of reduction products from the reactor, and supply means of initial products are installed in upper hollow part of the reactor at a tangent to horizontal cross section of the reactor; magnesium boiler-evaporator has supply means of liquid magnesium to it, supply means of inert gas and means for removal from it of magnesium vapours and their direction to the reactor together with inert gas, and is connected to the reactor with possibility of transporting and supplying aluminium chloride and gaseous magnesium to reactor in opposite turbulent flows of inert carrier gas. Reactor is connected to separation unit of liquid magnesium from its residual mixture with aluminium chloride, and the above reactor and the separation unit are equipped with external system of evaporative cooling.
EFFECT: high productivity, tightness and environmentally safe manufacture and reduction of capital costs.
