FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of aluminium powder. Method involves metallothermic reduction of aluminium chloride. At that, aluminium trichloride is sublimated for its conversion into gas phase and its supply to the surface of solid-phase reducing agent in the form of magnesium block. Said magnesium block is pre-arranged in the reactor. Metallothermic reduction is carried out at aluminium chloride sublimation temperature of 180°C and pressure of 1.0–1.05 atm in inert gas flow and aluminium chloride, pre-purified from moisture and oxygen impurities.
EFFECT: obtaining powder in a system that is simple in design, tight, with low power consumption, at low temperature and pressure parameters.
