SENSOR FOR TARGET PARTICLES IN SAMPLE Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC G01N15/06

Abstract RU 2476858 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: target particles (1) in a sample chamber are detected by a sensor element (SE), and at least one corresponding sensor signal (s, s') is provided. An estimation unit (EU) then determines the value of the target particles (1) in a first zone (Z1) immediately on the contact surface (112) and a second zone (Z2) at a distance (z) from the contact surface based on said sensor signal. In an approach using optical measurement, frustrated total internal reflection, which occurs in different operating conditions (for example, wavelength, angle of incidence), can be used to extract information on the first and second zones (Z1, Z2). In an approach with magnetic measurement, different magnetic excitation fields can be used to excite magnetic target particles differently in the first and second zone (Z2). Furthermore, the time course of the sensor signals (s, s') can be estimated, particularly with respect to random movement of the target particles (1).

EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of determining values of target particles.
