Proposed tire has multiple rib-like areas of contact with pavement 3 separated by multiple main grooves 2 extending in tire lengthwise direction and/or block-like areas of contact with pavement 3 separated by multiple main grooves 2 and multiple grouser grooves 4 crossing main grooves 2 on tread surface 11. Surface of contact with pavement 3 has multiple ledges 6 of, at least, two types, that feature different surface areas. Further still, at least, most ledges 6 located by smaller ledge 61 of relatively small surface area are larger ledges 6 of relatively large surface area.

EFFECT: better bite on snow and ice.
