FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly ophthalmology, and may be used for the purpose of determining a degree of primary open-angle glaucoma progression. A pupil reaction of a patient diagnosed with primary open-angle glaucoma to a light flash is video-recorded in the dark without background light. A pupil dilation time Td and a pupil contraction time Tc are measured and related as Kr=Tp/Tc. Degree I primary open-angle glaucoma is stated if Kr>1.55; while 1.34<Kr<1.54 shows degree II; 1.07<Kr<1.33 - degree III, and Kr<1.06 - degree IV.
EFFECT: method enables higher accuracy of determining the degree of primary open-angle glaucoma ensured by enabled detection of the dystrophic changes in the anterior segment and evaluation of manifestation thereof.
