FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: in a mobile station the first key is saved (KeMB[n]), which is intended for generation of the second key designed for generation of a certain key used when communicating between the initial base station and the mobile station, besides, the first key (KeMB[n]) is determined with a parameter (KI), contained in a signal of a command for a handover received in a mobile station. At the same time, when the parameter (KI), contained in the signal of the command for handover implementation is increased in comparison with the previous parameter saved in a mobile station (UE), in the mobile station on the basis of the main key (KASME) and the first key (KeMB[n]), defined by the specified previous parameter (KI), a new first key (KeMB[n+1]) is generated, and when the parameter (KI) is not increased, in the mobile station on the basis of the second key (KeMB[n][m]) a new second key (KeMB[n][m+1]) is generated, being intended for generation of a certain key used when communicating between the initial base station and the mobile station.
EFFECT: generation of the first key used in a target base station in accordance with a simplified procedure.
