FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: in the disclosed method, a radio communication handover target base station (Target eNB) receives from a switching centre a first key (KeNB[n+1]) for generating a second key (KeNB[n+1][0]), wherein KeNB[n+1] is determined by a parameter (KI); the Target eNB then generates a certain key (Ko) used for communication between the Target eNB and UE, from the KeNB[n+1][0]; the UE then receives the KI contained in the handover command signal; the UE, upon receiving said signal from a radio communication handover source base station (Source eNB), when the received KI is greater than the previous KI stored in the UE, generates a KeNB[n+1] for generating KeNB[n+1][0] based on the master key (KAsme) and the previous first key (KeNB[n]) determined by the previous KI, wherein the KI is obtained by increasing the previous KI used when generating KeNB[n], used to generate the previous (KeNB[n+1][0]), used to generate the previous Ko used for communication between the Source eNB and UE.
EFFECT: simple procedure for generating a communication key.
