SUBSTANCE: disclosed are devices and methods of deploying and/or implementing a low-power mode at an access point (AP) base station. The low-power mode can be implemented based on the presence and/or state of access terminals (AT). The method includes a process of determining if any other ATs are present within at least one given coverage area and/or a process of determining if the ATs are in idle or active state.
EFFECT: reduced transmission power of base stations.
