FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric traction systems of transport facilities. In this method, limiting excitation current of synchronous generator is set for specified rotation frequency of thermal engine, amount of mismatch between measured position of batching element of fuel supply and specified position is integrated by time, integration result is taken as corresponding set value of each traction electric motor rotation frequency. Then rotation frequency, voltages, armature and exciting coil currents of all locomotive traction DC electric motors are measured, according to obtained results, magnetic flow values are determined, further, calculated values of all traction electric motor rotation frequencies are computed and compared with values of measured frequencies, maximum values are selected from them, maximum values for each traction electric motor are compared with rotation frequency set value, results of comparison are amplified and taken as amounts of set values for output voltage of controlled amplifiers. Also, deviations are computed from calculated and measured rotation frequencies of traction electric motors and if deviation threshold is exceeded it is decided that sensor of rotation frequency or traction electric motor has failed.

EFFECT: higher reliability and better antiskid properties of diesel locomotive in conditions of bad grip.
