FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to method of adjusting electric transmission at diesel locomotive with self-contained heat engine, AC generator and DC motor. Proposed method consists in setting rpm of heat engines driving AC traction generators connected with traction motors. Position of rack incorporated with rpm regulator fuel feed and heat engine load metre is measured. Said position is set is proportion to heat engine rpm. Preset position is compared to measured position, mismatch is integrated over time for it to be taken as AC traction generator voltage setting in relevant section. Traction motor rpm in every locomotive section is measured. Traction motor minimum rpm is selected from measured range to be summed with minus sign with measured rpm of each traction motor. Summing results are compared to preset threshold. Mismatch is integrated over time for it to be taken as AC traction generator voltage setting in relevant section. Summing results are taken to make controlled rectifier output voltage settings to be used for phase regulation of controlled rectifier output voltage to be fed to traction motor input.

EFFECT: higher traction at fast load variation, higher heat engine efficiency.
