FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: control of electric traction gear in diesel locomotive is provided by variation of traction alternator voltage with account of wheelset slid mode. Method for control of diesel locomotive electric gear consists in the fact that measured power of traction generator is compared to setting of traction alternator power, result of comparison is integrated by time and is accepted as voltage setting of traction alternator. Result of measured power comparison with power setting is supplied to one inlet of logical unit, frequencies of traction electric motor rotation are measured, signals are compared that are proportional to measured frequencies of rotation, result of rotation frequencies comparison is supplied to another inlet of logical unit, mode of electric traction gear operation, mode of non-detected skid, start of skid mode and intense skid mode are determined with the help of logical unit, taken as current setting for traction electric motors of non-skidding wheelsets of diesel locomotive in skidding mode.

EFFECT: improved traction properties of diesel locomotive.
