FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for gas medium compression by means of at least one compression stage with areas of inlet, compression and outlet formed by electrodes at inlet and outlet sides and by at least one membrane electrode made as an electrically conductive substrate with porous structure and polymer composite material deposited at the surface, which is a gas-proof material in normal conditions; it is possible to form compression area including passage of impulse current with preset polarity through the electrode from the side of gas medium inlet and membrane electrode with creation of an electric field; under action of the field the polymer composite material of the membrane electrode is transferred to gas permeability status with gas medium transfer to the outlet area with increase of pressure, at that flashing duration corresponds to the time of gas medium transfer through the membrane electrode.
EFFECT: receipt of pressure within the range up to 50 MPa and more using free-running generators and currents with standard voltage values and commercial frequencies.
