FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Proposed method comprises heating of billets and multipass straining at horizontal and vertical rolls with passes. Efficiency of production is increased by using worn-out rails as billets. Said rails consist of head, web and foot. Said rails are slitted in one-three passes along the web into two lengths. Then, proceeding from the conditions of steel mechanical and operating properties recovery, length with rail head is squeezed to bulb iron with total reduction of, at least, 2. Note here that length with rail foot is squeezed to T-like iron with total reduction of, at least, 1.5. Note also that rails are heated to 1000-1195°C.
EFFECT: lower costs.
