SUBSTANCE: result is achieved by associating a new configuration to be used by UE with an extra UE identifier. UE is usually identified by a first UE identifier, but the reconfiguration message indicates that the UE also has an extra identifier. The UE is identified through the extra identifier when the new configuration has to be activated. Thus, when a base radio station detects that the UE is responding to requests which include the extra UE identifier, the base radio station can conclude that the UE has activated the new configuration.
EFFECT: improved procedure of synchronising the reconfiguration procedure RRC between a base radio station and UE.
