FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of light section from iron scrap at foundry-rolling plants. Liquid steel is produced by scrap remelting at smelting furnace. Steel is teemed in casting machine water-cooled annular mould revolved at 10-100 sec-1 to obtain initial annular cast, its thickness and cross-section width being predefined. After crystallisation, annular billet is withdrawn from the revolving mould at 115-1250°C. Stretching-forming machine is used to cut the billet by shears and straightened at hydraulic unbender with annular billet cross-section bending deformation not exceeding 0.5-0.9 %. Obtained C-shape billet is straightened to straight strip between two roll by rolling in one pass. Note here that relative reduction makes 12-15%. Obtained rectangular strip is fed to continuous set of rolling mil to perform rolling with lengthwise strip separation with total stretching of 2.5-3.5 to produce preset length rolled stock at outlet of the last rolling mill.
EFFECT: dense fine-grained structure of cast billet, reduced total reduction in rolling.
