FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: radio frequency sensor of level with a U-shaped sensitive element comprises an electronic unit and a sensitive element connected to it, made in the form of a section of a long line. At the same time the sensitive element is made as U-shaped from two serially connected sections of the long line, one of which is short-circuited and has length equal to the maximum value of the metered level, and the other section of the long line is open, and a linearising capacitor is connected to its free end. At the same time capacitance values of the linearising capacitor and length of the open section of the long line are determined from the formulas Clo+Ce(h-hm)=1.3349εhmCe+0.0161εhm-1.0729hmCe+0.009εCe-0.0092ε-0.0295Ce+0.0246 and hm≤h≤Clm/Ce+hm, where Clo - value of capacitance of the linearising capacitor; Clm - value of capacitance of the linearising capacitor at h=hm; Ce - running capacitance of used long line; h - length of the open section of the long line; hm - maximum value of the measured level; ε relative dielectric permeability of controlled medium.
EFFECT: reduced error of measurement specified by non-linearity of a conversion function, simplification and cheapening of its realisation.
