SUBSTANCE: proposed ferments are as follows: hydrogenase and dehydrogenase extracted from Thermococcus onnurineus NA1 and having the sequences specified in the description, as well as their coding genes. A vector containing the above genes combined into FDH2-MFH2-MNH2 cluster is described. A host cell containing the above vector is described. Hydrogen production methods involving the following stages are proposed: preparation of medium in a cultivation vessel; supply of formiate to gaseous phase present in the cultivation vessel; cultivation of recombinant host cell or strain T. onnurineus in the cultivation vessel; extraction of hydrogen from the cultivation vessel.

EFFECT: invention allows more effective production of hydrogen by means of a microbiological method in the medium containing gaseous phase of formiate.
