FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, namely to wound bandage, in particular to wound bandage for reduction of post operational edema of part of human or animal body or for control of hemorrhage from wounds, as well as to method of reducing post operational edema of part of human or animal body or for control of hemorrhage from wounds. Wound bandage contains hermetic envelope, which has at least one cell, multitude of rod-shaped elements and means for removing air from at least one cell. Multitude of rod-shaped elements is placed at distance from each other inside of at least one cell. Removal of air from at least one cell leads to reduction of distance between, at least, two rod-shaped elements.
EFFECT: method of reducing post operational edema of part of human or animal body or control of hemorrhage from wounds includes the following stages: application upper said bandage and application on body part or wound and application of pressure to body part of wound by reduction of space between at least one pair of rod-shaped elements by removing air from at least one cell.
