FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method for measuring fluid level is provided, wherein the side of the surface of the fluid normally to it is radiated with electromagnetic waves, the reflected electromagnetic waves are received, and the first phase difference of the radiated and received electromagnetic waves is measured. At the time of receiving of the reflected waves the frequency of probing waves is changed to achievement of the phase equation of the radiated and received waves, the value of this frequency is recorded, the waves of this recorded frequency are radiated again towards the surface of the fluid normally to it, the reflected waves are received, and the second phase difference of radiated and received waves is measured, the frequency of the radiated waves is changed again to increasing until reaching again the equality of phases of radiated and received waves, the value of this frequency is recorded again, the difference of the first and second frequencies of the radiated waves is measured, the phase difference of waves is measured, corresponding to this recorded frequency difference and its current value, and according to the sum of distances corresponding to the said recorded first and second frequency difference and the phase difference, the fluid level in the container is determined.
EFFECT: improvement of accuracy of measurement.
